4 Techniques for Quick Panic Attack Relief

Anyone that has ever experienced a panic attack knows how important quick relief can be.  However, not many people actually know what to do to relieve a panic attack.  So, here are four techniques you can use for quick panic attack relief or if you just want to reduce your general stress and anxiety.

  1. Muscle relaxation- This is a great technique for panic attack relief.  It’s also very easy.  The best way to relax your muscles is to focus on one muscle at a time.  Contract it and hold for a few seconds, then let it go and relax it as much as possible.  Do this for all of your muscles from head to toe.  Once you’re done, you should feel much more relaxed and at ease.

  1. Deep breathing exercises- This is a technique that is often recommended for quick panic attack relief.  All you have to do is breath in as deeply as you can through your nose, hold it for several seconds, and then release it through your mouth.  Really try to focus on your breath as you breathe in and out.  Do this for a few minutes for panic attack relief.

  1. Visualization exercises- While this technique may not offer as quick of panic attack relief as some of the other techniques, it is effective.  Now, there are several ways to perform these exercises, so you might want to do further research to learn how to do them correctly.  However, almost all of them focus on visualizing yourself in a different situation, very calm and without anxiety.

  1. Distraction- Sometimes the best way to get panic attack relief is to try to get your mind off of the problem.  Think about anything else you can think of.  You might try remembering a funny video you watched or a joke you heard about.  You can even start trying to list off all of the presidents or do math problems in your head.  It doesn’t matter what you think of, as long as it distracts you from the attack.

These are just four of the techniques you can use for quick panic attack relief.  If you want even more advice, you might consider purchasing an online course for panic attacks.  Most online courses give you a step by step plan to follow for permanent panic attack relief.
